These two Polynesian dancers perform regulalry in the Polynesian luaus on Hawaian Island. The dancers are from Saipan and Oahu. Dancing next to each other on stage they developed a romance. Right after this photo was taken he proposed and these two are now married with a sweet little one in their home. I am sure they will have more little ones who will be trained as perfomers... they might jut create their own little dance troup at home. This is one of Ranae Keane's favorite images. Tiana was asked to be a model for a Big Isand photographers collobaration. After one moment of hearing Ranae's posing guidance there was an immediate connection and this photo is basicaly right out of camera. The murky evening at the Natural Energy Lab created lovely tons which naturally complemented her tatoo skin. The reflection in the tide pool added to the angular lines and design of the Polneisan attire. Tiana is a graphic desiner influenced by tribal designs and also commissions captivating island tatoos. Kamaka Mahoe is one of the Hawaiian Islands greatest Samaoan Fire Knife Dancers. This photograph was taken during a live performance at a wedding reception. The Polynesian dancer regularlly lights his hand feet on fire. Not only is Kamaka the best fire dancer he is one of the best lava rock wall builders. kapela's curly long hair flys in the wind and and her elegant red dance dress trails behind the long legged dancer. This was a pretty impressive feat considering the lava rock coastline is unforgiving to feet and knees. This is a long exposure caption caught on Kukio Beach at Twilight. Kalea was instructed to take a diagional turning pass to specific counts dictated by Rane Keane, the photographer. She also had to hit a specific mark on a specific beat for the last pose. This beautiful young woman executed the task perfectly as requested. Well trained dancers can dance this perfecly. Who doesn't love to spin twirl and turn their way down the sand on a beautiful beach in starlight?

This peice of driftwood is an iconic feature of Anaeho'omalu Bay, commonly called A Bay, now a very active beach since Lava Lava Beach Club was built within this amazing beach setting. Wow, magic always happens when working with Jeanne. During her reign as a Miss Hawaii she was traveling the world and rarely had the opportunity to come home. When she made it home we had such a short time to visit. We had 5 minutes to get this photograph. And it happened, like magic. The purpland orange sunset pops against the sheer longsleeve blue dance dress costume worn by the girl who was trained with a professional ballet carrer in mind. Her pointed toes, long leglines, and extention porte de bra is mimiced in the lines of the palm tree blowing in the wind.

Jeanne Kapel won the title Miss Kakaako and went on to win Miss Hawaii. Her platform is to end sex trafficing of the young girls in Honolulu. For this photo session we wanted to highlight Kakaako and use the many graffiti lined streets and parks. We wanted to feature her dance techniques and talents.
